Although this facility is online only, cancellation of e-tickets is not allowed at Railway ticket counters. So, if you want to cancel your ticket, then here is how to cancel the reservation of the IRCTC e-ticket for only one person.
Open the IRCTC e-ticketing website and log in by entering the correct username and password on the login screen.
Now to cancel your e-ticket, go to "My Transaction".
Then click on the "Booked Ticket History" link under the My Account menu.
Now you will see your booked tickets in the section.
After that select the ticket to be canceled and click on "Cancel Ticket".
Initiate the cancellation by selecting the names of the passengers whose tickets are to be canceled.
After this select the check box before the name of the passenger and click on the "Cancel Ticket" button.
Click on the confirmation pop to confirm the cancellation.
After the completion of the cancellation, after deducting the cancellation amount, the remaining ticket money will be returned to your account.
