Aditya L1 Launch LIVE Updates: Building on the achievement of Chandrayaan-3's successful moon landing, ISRO has launched the Aditya-L1 mission today, marking India's inaugural solar probe venture. This mission's primary goal is to investigate solar winds, which are known to cause disruptions on Earth, often observed as auroras.
This solar exploration mission comes on the heels of India's recent triumph in surpassing Russia, as they became the first nation to land on the moon's south pole. Despite Russia possessing a more potent rocket, India's Chandrayaan-3 demonstrated superior endurance, outperforming Luna-25 with a flawless landing.
The Aditya-L1 spacecraft has been meticulously designed to traverse approximately 1.5 million kilometers (930,000 miles) during a span of four months. It is destined for a region in space often referred to as a "parking lot" due to the stabilizing gravitational forces at play, thus reducing the spacecraft's fuel consumption.

India is embarking on its first solar mission, but several nations have sent missions to explore the Sun. Till now, a total of 22 missions have been sent to the Sun. Notable participants in solar missions include the United States, Germany, and the European Space Agency.
America's NASA has led the way with 14 solar missions, including the Parker Solar Probe, which has made numerous close approaches to the Sun.
The European Space Agency also sent its first Sun mission in 1994 in association with NASA.
