Mobile Users Are Decreasing In The Country, 54.77 Lakh People Distanced Themselves From Mobile

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in the month of September, the number of mobile users decreased by 36.64 lakhs to 114.54 crores.

The number of mobile users in the country is continuously decreasing. In the last two months, 54.77 lakh people have distanced themselves from mobile. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in October 2022, the number of mobile users across the country has increased to 114.36 crore. While there were about 114.91 crore mobile users in the month of August. In the month of September, the number of mobile users decreased by 36.64 lakhs to 114.54 crores. At the same time, 18.13 lakh mobile users have decreased in the month of October.

14.14 lakh users joined Jio and 8.05 lakh users joined Airtel

Reliance Jio continues to dominate the telecom sector and continues to hold on to its number one position. In October, Jio has added 14.14 lakh new users to its network. With this, the number of users of Jio network has increased to 42.13 crore. At the same time, 8.5 lakh new users were added to Bharti Airtel in October. After this, the number of subscribers of Airtel has increased to 36.50 crore.

Vodafone-Idea users decreased

Users of Vodafone Idea are continuously decreasing. 35.09 lakh users of Vodafone-Idea company have left the network in October. With this, the total number of subscribers of the company has come down to 24.56 crore. At the same time, 5.92 lakh users of BSNL have decreased. Due to this, the number of its users has come down to 10.86 lakh.

Jio's 36.85% market share

According to TRAI, Reliance Jio's market share in the telecom market has increased from 36.66% to 36.85%, while Bharti Airtel's market share has increased from 31.80% to 31.92%. At the same time, the stake of Vodafone-Idea has come down from 21.75 to 21.48% as of September.

20,980 5G base stations installed in the country

Talking about 5G service, till November 26, 20,980 base stations have been installed in 14 states and union territories of the country. In response to a question in the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Minister of State for Communications Devu Singh Chauhan told that about 2500 new 5G towers are being installed in the country every week.

Maximum 5829 5G towers have been installed in Delhi. Airtel has installed 938 5G towers in Delhi, while Reliance Jio has installed 4891 towers. Idea-Vodafone has not yet installed a single tower for 5G services in Delhi. Maharashtra has the maximum number of towers after Delhi. There are 4051 5G towers installed in Maharashtra. In such a situation, the customers of Airtel and Reliance Jio will increase.
