Since Independence

Apple has removed another iPhone from its service list, meaning users will no longer receive any security or operating system updates for this iPhone.

Additionally, parts will not be available if the phone needs repair. According to Apple's policy, the company classifies any product as obsolete seven years after the last unit is sold, which means that Apple will no longer offer any kind of service for that phone.

Recently, Apple added some of its older iPhones and iPads to this list. Now, the company has added another popular iPhone to the list. Apple has classified the iPhone 5s, launched in 2013, as obsolete.

If you are still using this iPhone, you might be disappointed. The iPhone 5s was launched in September 2013. Nearly 11 years after its launch, the company has now added it to the obsolete list.

Regarding the features of the iPhone 5s, it was the first iPhone to be launched with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Additionally, Apple used the Home button for the first time in an iPhone.

This iPhone was equipped with Apple's A7 chip. Moreover, it was the first time the company used a 64-bit processor in it.

No Repair After Malfunction

Apple has placed this iPhone on its obsolete list, which means users will no longer receive software or security updates for this iPhone. Moreover, genuine parts for the phone will also not be available after it malfunctions.

This means that if you are using this phone, it will essentially become unusable after any serious issue. Placing a device on the obsolete list implies that users can now consider recycling it.

Apple recycles its older products to use their parts or other components in new products, which benefits the environment.
