WhatsApp New Feature: QR-Based Chat Transfer Feature Launched

WhatsApp New Feature: WhatsApp instant messaging app has rolled out a new chat transfer feature. Through this feature, users will be able to transfer chats from one device to another. Users will be able to take advantage of this feature by scanning the QR code.

Giving information about the feature, META CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote 'If you want to take your WhatsApp chat to another phone, you will be able to share the chat on the other device without uploading it to the cloud via QR-code scan. '

How will QR-code-based chat transfer feature work?

The QR-code chat transfer feature of WhatsApp will work on your local WiFi connection. META says that users can also easily transfer their entire WhatsApp chats and media files without leaving the WhatsApp app.

How to transfer chat through QR-based chat transfer?

  • First of all, WhatsApp has to be downloaded on the second phone, and WiFi and location have to be turned on in both phones.

  • Now go to Settings > Chats and then Chat transfer on both phones.

  • Register the new phone with your same number.

  • After which you will see the option of QR-based chat transfer. After which you will be able to transfer data and media files.

When will users not be able to use QR-code chat transfer feature?

The QR-code chat transfer feature will work only if both devices run on the same operating system. The company has also given a chat move feature for chat transfer from iPhone to Android devices.

QR-code chat transfer feature keeps data safe

META WhatsApp has said that it is more secure to transfer data through the QR-code chat transfer feature as compared to third-party apps and the cloud.

In the QR-code chat transfer feature process, the data is shared only between the two devices which remains completely encrypted.
