Air India: Employers will get Option to Work for three Days in a Week

Air India Officials said, "Permanent employees who opt for this scheme can avail this scheme for one year."

Air India has given its permanent employees the option of working three days a week. However, the company's pilots and cabin crew members cannot avail of the scheme. However, other permanent employees will get a 60 percent salary for working three days a week. A senior airline official gave this information. Officials said these steps have been taken to improve the airline's cash flow situation amid the coronavirus epidemic. Officials said, "Permanent employees who opt for this scheme can avail this scheme for one year."

The epidemic has a severe impact on the aviation industry. Almost all the airline companies in the country have taken steps such as a reduction in staff salaries and retrenchment of employees to improve their cash-flow situation.

International passenger flights are still suspended

Officials say that employees who choose a three-day working week will not be able to do any more employment on other days of the week. Domestic passenger aircraft were not able to be operational in the country for almost two months due to the lockdown implemented. Domestic flight services on a limited scale have been in operation since May 25, 2020. International flights till suspended.

The government tried to disinvest Air India two years ago but it failed. In January this year, the government once again started the disinvestment process but the process slowed down due to the coronavirus epidemic. It is noteworthy that Air India is a loss-making airline which owes more than 60,000 crores.
