SP MP from Rampur Azam Khan is not taking the name of the problems being reduced. First the Land mafia, then the book theft and now the trees are also accused of theft. Azam is accused of Cutting 2173 trees of catechu on the land of Kosi river area in Jauhar University campus. The Forest department has also issued a notice to them.
The Jauhar University has five hectares of the Kosi coast. This land has been taken on lease. It is alleged that 2173 trees of catechu were planted in this land, which were stolen without permission. The matter reached the NGT. On the order of the NGT, the team came here and investigated and found that the trees were missing. On this, the Forest Department has issued a notice to the Vice Chancellor of the University.
District Forest Officer AK Kashyap says 2173 trees were planted. This is also confirmed by the order of leasing. There is no record in the Forest Department regarding the felling of these trees. If permission has not been taken, the trees have been stolen by theft. The university's vice-chancellor has been issued a notice seeking a reply in a week. Also, it has been asked whether the wood of the trees is sold or not.
Azam Khan has been facing various charges for the last two months. So far 50 cases have been filed, while 10 cases are already registered against him. Of these, 30 cases have been filed for possession of land for Johar University. After this, the administration has also declared him a land mafia. The police raided his Jauhar University and recovered three thousand books. Four library staff have been in jail for almost a month. The library has also been closed since then. Azam Khan's name has also been included in the book theft case.
