This time candidates can also make nominations online, but the digital copy of the same will have to be submitted. The important thing is that there is a hearing in the High Court tomorrow regarding the election. The Election Commissioner said that we are presenting our side. Whatever order comes from there will be implemented.

This time elections will be held in 35 wards

The scrutiny of nominations will take place on December 6. Then on December 9, nominations can be withdrawn. Voting will be held on December 24 from 7:30 am to 5 pm. For the first time in Chandigarh, elections will be held on 35 wards. Earlier there were 26 wards. For this, 6 lakh 30 thousand voters will choose councilors for themselves. Of these, there are about 3.5 lakh male and 2.99 lakh female voters. There are also 17 third-gender voters in this.

Code applicable at center-state offices, the maximum spending limit is 5 lakhs

9 Returning Officers have been made for nomination. There is a returning officer in the 4th ward. The Code of Conduct for the Chandigarh Corporation Elections shall also be applicable to all the Central and State Offices located in the Union Territory in the city. This time the maximum limit of expenditure will be Rs 5 lakh. 6 thousand will have to be deposited at the time of nomination. For SC / ST this amount will be 3 thousand. During the campaign, action will be taken on writing posters and slogans on the wall.

Booth-candidate information will be available from the mobile app

This time voters will get booth and candidate information through the mobile app. Soon the commission will give information about the app. At the same time, there will be a single window in the DC office for the permission of the candidate.

Promotion will stop 72 hours before

This time the campaigning will stop 72 hours before the start of the elections. Earlier this time was 48 hours. The time for campaigning has been fixed from 10 am to 7 pm. This time the photograph of the candidate will also be on the EVM.
