Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Chennai on Friday on a two-day visit. He will attend the second informal summit to be held in Mallapuram with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Air China plane with Xi Jinping and others landed at two in the afternoon. Special preparations were made to welcome at the airport. She was welcomed with the red carpet by Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister K.K. Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam did it.

Xi Jinping has come for a 24-hour visit to India for the second informal summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The summit will take place in the ancient coastal city of Mamallapuram, about 50 km from Tamil Nadu, which is important due to strong trade and cultural ties with China's Fujian province.
