Earthquake Noted at Ladakh to Himachal, People in Panic due to Earthquake of 5.3 Magnitude

The land of Ladakh was shaken by the earthquake on Sunday. The quake intensity was 5.3. In the initial information, no casualties were reported. Earlier on Saturday, mild tremors of 2.20 magnitude earthquake were felt. However, its intensity on the Richter Scale was lower than that of today's earthquake. Its intensity on the Richter Scale was measured at 4.1. On the other hand, tremors of 3.4 magnitude earthquake were felt in Himachal. According to the Meteorological Department, these tremors came at 11:55 am.

The epicenter of the earthquake in Ladakh was near the India-China border. Earthquake tremors were limited for some time. Amil Ali, in-charge of Kashmir Disaster Management Cell, said that the epicenter of the quake was on the border between Ladakh and China's Xinjiang, 209 km east of Leh. With this, the possibility of falling glaciers in the mountainous region has increased.

On the other hand, the Meteorological Department had issued snowfall warnings at five places in Kullu and Lahul Spiti in Himachal. Meanwhile, earthquake tremors have increased people's concerns. The police, including the district administration, have advised people not to move out of their homes. Also, tourists have been advised not to go to high snowfall area of ​​high altitude.

Significantly, the areas of Himachal Pradesh have recorded a drop in temperature. The forecast of the Meteorological Department is said to be more rain and snowfall across the state. An official of the meteorological department said that there may be widespread rain and snowfall in the state till Monday.

For information, let us know that on Thursday, January 10, earthquake tremors were felt in Ladakh too. Then the earthquake came at 8:22 pm. Its center was 63.6 km north of Leh and 193.1 km east of Kargil. However, even then there was no loss of life or property.
