Jaipur's badminton player Krishna Nagar has brought laurels to India in the Tokyo Paralympics. Krishna won the gold medal by defeating Chu Man Kei of Hong Kong in a thrilling match in the X SH-6 category. Krishna is the second player from Rajasthan to have won a gold medal in the Olympics. Earlier, Avani Lekhara had won gold in shooting.
Earlier on Saturday, Krishna Nagar defeated Kristen Coombs of Great Britain to reach the final. Krishna has become the fourth player from Rajasthan to win a medal in the Paralympics. Krishna troubled the British player a lot with his game. They made it to the finals by winning the first game 21-10 and the second game 21-11. The opponent had no answer to the variation of Krishna's shots.
In the SH-6 category, those players take part, whose height does not increase. Krishna's height was also not increasing. Krishna must have been 2 years old, only then the family came to know about his disease. Slowly Krishna grew up. He devoted himself completely to the sport. He used to train every day by going to the stadium 13 km away from home.
There is an atmosphere of happiness in his family in Pratapnagar Sector 6 of Jaipur when Krishna reaches the final. Krishna's father Sunil Nagar told that for a long time, Krishna was working hard every day for the Paralympics. As a result of that, today he has won the medal. We sincerely hope that Krishna will illuminate India's name in the world by performing well in the future also.
