IPL 2021: Nathan Ellis Joins Punjab Kings as Richardson, Meredith Ruled Out

The remaining matches of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League are schedule to be held in the UAE from next month. The tournament's franchise team Punjab Kings has included a new player in the team before the UAE leg. Nathan Ellis, who recently made his T20 debut for Australia, has been included in the squad for the remainder of the season in place of Jhye Richardson.

The 14th season of IPL will begin from 19th September. The teams have started reaching the venue for the tournament. The remaining 31 matches of this season are to be held in the UAE by 15 October. All the franchise teams are engaged in adding other players to the team in place of their injured players.

Punjab Kings signed Nathan Ellis:

According to the information, the Punjab Kings team has signed Australian fast bowler Ellis for the remaining matches of the season. The bowler, who took a hat-trick in the T20 debut against Bangladesh, has also been included in Australia's 15-man squad for the ICC T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Punjab team decided to include Ellis in the team as two Australian players Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith will not be able to play in the remaining matches of this season of IPL. They have ruled out of the tournament and the team had to replace them with other players. At the same time, Jhye and Meredith were joined by the Punjab Kings team at high bidding in the auction. Jhye was included in PK team by paying 14 crores while Meredith was given 8 crores.
