The Madras High Court held that the CBI should have the autonomy to report only to the Parliament. The opposition alleges that it has become a political tool in the hands of the central government. The court said that the CBI should be like the CAG, which is answerable only to the Parliament. The court said that this order is an attempt to release the caged parrot.
