According to the latest information, the Chief Justice is currently sitting in the Constitution Bench and is hearing in the Ayodhya case. After Justice Ramna refused, Kapil Sibal immediately went to the Chief Justice Court, but did not mention the case there, instead the court started hearing the Ayodhya case directly.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court dismissed his anticipatory bail application on Tuesday afternoon, giving him a blow. A few minutes after this, he approached the Supreme Court. A fresh plea for three days' interim relief on the arrest was again filed in the court, but he was also not relieved. Advocates Kapil Sibal, Vivek Tankha and Salman Khurshid will be present to present Chidambaram's side in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
After this, Chidambaram's lawyer Kapil Sibal and others immediately reached the Supreme Court. CJI requested for mentoring for immediate hearing, but the court directed him to do mentoring on Wednesday. Justice Sunil Gaur of the Delhi High Court reserved the judgment on January 25 on the anticipatory bail plea of Chidambaram. His petition was dismissed on Tuesday.
Justice Sunil Gaur said that his petitions are dismissed in both the CBI and ED cases. Chidambaram's lawyer Dayan Krishnan then requested a three-day stay on the implementation of the order. The High Court said that it would consider the request and give a decision. At around four o'clock the court rejected his request. After the High Court refused to grant any relief, Chidambaram met senior advocate Kapil Sibal and considered the next strategy. Kapil Sibal said that at 10.30 am on Wednesday, the case will be mentored to get relief from the Supreme Court.
