Monsoon Session: Lok Sabha Adjourned till 2 PM amid Opposition’s Uproar

Today marks the fourth day of the third week of the monsoon session of Parliament. Both the houses of Parliament on Thursday continued to witness uproar over Pegasus snooping and farm laws. Opposition leaders have demanded that these issues should be discussed in the House. At the same time, the Center says that it is ready for debate on every issue amid sloganeering by Opposition MPs. Meanwhile, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 2 pm.

Earlier, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla congratulated the Indian hockey team for winning the bronze medal in the Olympics. He said that the whole country is proud of this success. Before the start of the session, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad targeted the opposition for not functioning of Parliament. He said that we are ready to discuss any issue, but the question is whether the opposition really wants this. Not allowing Parliament to function is the agenda of Congress.

6 TMC MPs suspended for the day:

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday suspended six Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs for the day. These include Dola Sen, Nadeemul Haque, Arpita Ghosh, Mausam Noor, Shanta Chhetri and Abir Ranjan Biswas. This action was taken for showing placards and creating ruckus in the House.

While targeting TMC leaders, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "They (TMC MPs) are conspiring to tarnish Parliament with their legacy of violence. They resorted to vandalism. They're trying to repeat Bengal violence in Parliament. "
