Target to Announce Postal Ballot Results by 9 AM: Jharkhand Election

The goal of declaring the results of the postal ballot is till nine o'clock in the morning, while the results of the counting of EVMs can be reached by half past nine.

The counting of the Jharkhand assembly elections will start from 8 am in East Singhbhum district along with the whole of Kolhan. In this, the postal ballot will be counted first. District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla said that by 7.59 am, whatever postal ballot they get from the postal department will be counted. It will not be taken after this.

After the counting of EVMs is over, EVMs will be matched with VVPATs of five booths each from each assembly. Apart from this, the counting of any booth will be done if there is a need to repeat the counting. Because of this, it is natural for the counting of votes to be late. Counting of videography will be done, then CCTV cameras will also monitor the counting.

The counting agent will be allowed to enter the counting hall till 7 am. Mobile phones, water bottles and food are prohibited in the counting hall. Only candidates can take mobile phones to the media center. He will enter the counting hall after depositing his mobile phone. As per the Legislative Prescribed Table, the presence of one counting agent at each table and one counting agent at the electoral office table will be allowed. In addition, a counting agent will be allowed on the postal ballot and ETPBS scanning table. After the counting of votes, five VVPATs from all the assembly constituencies will be randomly selected, which will match the vote.
