UAE Temporarily Ban Visa-On-Arrival Service for Indian Travelers

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday temporarily suspended the visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passengers, who hold a visa or residence permit issued by the US, UK or an EU Member State.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday temporarily suspended the visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passengers, who hold a visa or residence permit issued by the US, UK or an EU Member State. Etihad Airways has given information in this regard via tweet on Monday. Meanwhile, Etihad's official guest relations Twitter account notified, "The UAE authorities have decided to temporarily suspend the visa-on-arrival facility for passengers who are arriving from or been in India in the past 14 days. We're working to update our website."

On August 3, the UAE lifted the traveling restrictions from six countries, including India. Apart from India, it included Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda. The UAE's National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA) said in a tweet, "These categories include people with valid residency permits, who have been fully immunized in the UAE and 14 days after receiving a second dose."

Etihad issued a statement in this regard:

The NCEMA is the nodal agency in the UAE, which looks after the COVID-19 related relaxations in case of travel from other countries and informs the passengers about the travel criteria. Last week, Etihad had said that Indians with a visa or residence permit issued by the US. UK or an EU Member State could visit Abu Dhabi. In a statement, Etihad said, "If you are an Indian citizen, you are now eligible to apply for a visa. When you arrive in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi. To qualify, you must have a US visitor visa or holding a UK or EU residence valid. And your passport must have at least six months validity."
