The conflict in Ukraine has worsened. A war between Russia and Ukraine could erupt at any time. Tensions in eastern Ukraine have risen since Russia recognized Donetsk and Lugansk as separate entities. In Ukraine and its environs, there are a huge number of Indian citizens. Approximately 20,000 Indian residents, including hundreds of students, live in Ukraine and the area close to its border. There has been a sense of security for Indian citizens in the middle of the deepening crisis in Ukraine. Air India has taken the initiative to bring Indian citizens to the United States.

Special flights are being chartered to transport Indian citizens from Ukraine

India has decided to operate additional flights in light of the continuing tensions with Ukraine. Four flights from Kyiv to Delhi will be available on February 25, February 27, and March 6, 2022, according to the Indian Embassy in Ukraine. Apart from that, flights to India will be operated from Boryspil Airport on the 22nd, 24th, and 26th of February. On February 22, an Air India special flight arrived in Ukraine to transport Indian citizens. Booking offices and travel agents are both places where tickets can be purchased.

The Indian government has stepped up attempts to repatriate Indians who have become stranded in Ukraine. The Indian government issued an advisory to Indian citizens in Ukraine, urging them to leave as soon as possible. Those individuals or students who do not need to remain in the country should return to India, according to the advice. Indian citizens have also been advised not to travel unless necessary and to stay at home. After notifying the Indian Embassy that you are in Ukraine, personnel or officials from the embassy will contact you and have easy access to people of Indian descent to assist them in evacuating.
