The gang of three thieves in Katni in Madhya Pradesh started with a blast but in the end, their plans got frustrated. Actually, the gang of thieves had arrived to rob cash from an ATM. The thieves first broke the ATM using the detonator but they got only ten thousand rupees from inside the machine.

On Saturday afternoon, the thieves targeted an ATM of the Central Bank of India in Bakal village. At around two in the afternoon they arrived to carry out the theft. This is the third time in Madhya Pradesh since June this year that thieves have used explosives and detonators to open an ATM machine.

ATM robbery in Khargone, Jabalpur and now Katni

The gang members responsible for the incident on Saturday were caught on CCTV but the police have so far failed to trace the clues of the three thieves seen in the CCTV footage. In the same manner, in June this year, thieves robbed two ATMs located at a distance of 650 km from each other. The first such incident took place in Khargone district on June 2, and four days later, thieves also carried out ATM robbery in Jabalpur.

SIT set up to investigate all three incidents

In CCTV camera in Jabalpur, two masked bank ATM machines were seen blowing away explosives. The crooks escaped after robbing 6.38 lakh rupees from the ATM. The fire caused by the explosion had burnt a currency of Rs 3.3 lakh. During the investigation of the incident, black explosive material and detonator were found from inside the ATM. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate these three incidents of ATM theft.
