No Reports of Indian Casualties in Morocco Earthquake: Indian Embassy

Morocco Earthquake: In a devastating incident on Friday night, Morocco experienced a severe earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8, resulting in reports of over 2,000 casualties.

The embassy advised all Indian nationals in Morocco to remain calm and follow the directions issued by local authorities.

As of now, there is no information regarding any Indian citizen being affected by the catastrophic earthquake that struck Morocco. The Indian Embassy in Morocco provided this information.

Morocco Earthquake Claims Over 2,000 Lives

The Moroccan Ministry of Interior announced late on Saturday that the earthquake has resulted in the tragic loss of 2,012 lives, with at least 2,059 individuals sustaining injuries. Among the injured, 1,404 are in critical condition.

Following the earthquake in Rabat, the Indian Embassy issued a statement on Saturday, stating that they are in contact with the Indian community.

The embassy mentioned, "As of now, there is no information regarding any Indian citizen being affected by the earthquake."

In addition, the embassy has urged all Indian citizens in Morocco to remain patient and adhere to the guidance and instructions issued by local authorities as needed.

The advisory also mentioned that Indian citizens can call the helpline number provided by the embassy, which is available 24/7, for any assistance.

Prior to this, the Indian Embassy in Morocco had expressed deep sympathy for the earthquake victims, stating, "India stands ready to assist Morocco during this challenging time."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt condolences to the people affected by the severe earthquake in Morocco.

While inaugurating the G20 Summit on Saturday, he began his address by stating, "In this challenging moment of adversity, the entire global community stands with Morocco, and we are ready to provide all possible assistance."
