The fast track court has pronounced its verdict in the 2017 Shweta Aggarwal murder case. In this case of murder, the court also convicted Govind along with his mother and sister. In the murder case of Guwahati student Shweta Agarwal, the court sentenced convict Govind Singhal to death, while Govind's mother Kamla Devi and Sister Bhawani Singhal were sentenced to life imprisonment.
In December 2017, the body of promising college student Shweta Aggarwal was found in the bathroom of her boyfriend Govind Singhal's house. The mother and sister of Govind Sinhal, accused in the murder case, were also sentenced to jail
According to the chargesheet, Shweta Aggarwal rented a room on 4 December 2017 at the residence of Govind Singhal in Guwahati. There was a fight between the two over the issue of marriage. During this, Govind killed Shweta by hitting her head against the wall. Shweta was burnt in the bathroom by Govind, her mother and sister to make the murder a suicide.
In 2015, Shweta Aggarwal was a state topper in the 12th stream in Commerce Stream. When Shweta was killed, she was graduating from KC Das Commerce College in Guwahati. Both of them were married while working together in a firm.
