Hanumangarh: Death Sentence to the Accused of Rape and Murder of 60 Years Old Woman

The court has given harsh punishment to the accused of strangling to death after raping a 60-year-old woman in village Dulmana of Pilibanga police station area in the Hanumangarh district of the state. A 19-year-old youth has been sentenced to death by Hanumangarh District Sessions Judge Sanjeev Mago.

According to experts, this is probably the first case of hanging in the last several years. The police took this incident very seriously. By including this case in the case officer scheme, they presented a challan against the accused in the court within 7 days. The court sentenced the accused to be hanged on the 74th day of the incident.

Judge Sanjeev Mango said that this act is of inhuman nature. The court said that such persons are a serious threat to civilized society and such persons are not fit to live in the society.

What is the matter…

Hanumangarh Superintendent of Police Preeti Jain told that on the night of 15-16 September in village Dulmana of Pilibanga police station area, Sundar alias Mandia Meghwal (19), a young man of a 60-year-old elderly woman who was living alone in the house, forcibly entered the house during the night and raped her. After this, he killed the old woman for fear of being caught again. A case was registered immediately after coming to know about the incident.

Police did an investigation with the scientific approach

The police investigated the entire incident at a rapid pace from a scientific point of view. The MOB and forensic teams gathered all the evidence in a scientific and modern way.

Reports of some samples sent to FSL were also received at the earliest. Accused Surendra was arrested after the evidence was collected and the report was received. Within seven days, a challan was presented against him in the competent court.

Very serious and rare case: Court 

The Superintendent of Police said that District Sessions Judge Sanjeev Mango sentenced the accused Sundar Mandia to death, holding him guilty of rape and murder.

According to the information, rejecting the argument of the young age of the accused, the incident of raping and then killing an old lady was also considered very serious and rare by the court.

According to the incident, on the night of September 15, this young man had gone to the house of an elderly woman living alone in his locality. When the woman scolded the boy for entering her house, Surendra left the place after beating her.

The woman went to a family in her neighbourhood and told about Sundar. This family said that Sundar would be called in the morning. The woman returned home. Around midnight, Surendra came back to the house and after raping the woman ran away after killing her.
