The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections to be held in five states of the country this year. Election dates are being announced in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur.

The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections to be held in five states of the country this year. Election dates are being announced in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur. The term of the Legislative Assemblies in all these states is being completed in the next two to three months. Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said that elections will be held in 690 assemblies of 5 states in the country. New Corona protocols will be implemented to conduct elections.

Elections in Punjab, Goa and Uttarakhand to be held in single phase

Elections in Punjab, Goa and Uttarakhand will be held in single phase. On February 14, polling will be held in Punjab, Goa and Uttarakhand.

Elections will be held in 5 states in seven phases

  • Voting for the first phase in UP on February 10

  • Second Phase-14 February

  • Third Phase- 20 February

  • Fourth Phase- 23 February

  • Fifth Phase- 27 February

  • Manipur to vote in two phases

Ban on rallies, road shows till January 15

The Election Commissioner said that in view of the Corona epidemic, we have decided that till January 15, there will be a ban on all physical meetings, road shows, pad yatras and cycle rallies. If the situation changes, then the decision will be taken according to the situation.
