UP Election: Competition to Leave BJP in UP, Resignation of 6 BJP MLAs in 48 Hours

After the announcement of the dates for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP suffered several major setbacks one after the other in the last two days. In yet another episode, on Wednesday, OBC leader Dara Singh Chauhan resigned from Yogi Adityanath's cabinet. In the last 48 hours, not one or two, but 6 MLAs have left the BJP. However, during this time one Congress MLA and one SP MLA have also joined BJP.

Political alliances are changing rapidly in UP

Within 24 hours of the resignation of cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya, another minister of the Yogi government, Dara Singh Chauhan, resigned from his post. Three MLAs believed to be Maurya's supporters also announced their resignation. At the same time, BJP MLA Avtar Singh Bhadana has also left the party and joined SP's ally RLD.

There were also reports of BJP MLA from Bhadohi, Ravindra Nath Tripathi resigning from the BJP. However, MLA Tripathi termed it as a rumour. An FIR has been lodged on social media complaining that the fake letter of his resignation letter from the BJP has gone viral.

Two leaders have also joined BJP

In the meantime, two MLAs have also joined the BJP. MLA Naresh Saini and SP MLA Hari Om Yadav joined BJP on Wednesday. Hari Om Yadav is a relative of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

18 ministers of the Yogi Government will resign by Jan 20- Om Prakash Rajbhar

Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president and former UP cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar claimed on Wednesday that one or two ministers of the Yogi government would resign every day and by January 20, this figure would reach 18. Rajbhar claimed in a TV channel program that wickets of the BJP cabinet will fall successively.

Assembly elections to be held in 7 phases in UP

Assembly elections are to be held in UP with 403 assembly seats from February 10 to March 7. The results will be announced on March 10. In 2017, BJP won from Bilhaur seat of Kanpur Dehat. From here Bhagwati Sagar had given victory to BJP for the first time but this time, Bhagwati Sagar has resigned.

Bhagwati expressed his dismay on BJPs practices and claimed that they do not follow the principles of BR Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram. He said, “I was not able to do justice to those people who are suffering from the caste system by staying in BJP. I follow the ideology of BR Ambedkar and Kashi Ram”.
