An 11-year-old Hindu boy was brutally murdered after being sexually assaulted in the Sindh province of Pakistan. According to family members, the minor had gone missing on Friday evening. His body was found on Saturday in a deserted house in Babarloi town of Khairpur Mir area.
The Express Tribune quoted the boy's kin, Rajkumar, as saying that the entire family was busy with the celebrations for Guru Nanak's birthday (Prakash Parv). We do not know how the child went missing. He was found dead in the house at 11 pm. He told that the minor was studying in class 5th. So people in the area are scared after the incident.
The SHO of Babarloi police station has confirmed the incident. He said that the criminals had strangled the minor to death after sexually assaulting him. However, we have arrested two people, one of whom has confessed to his crime.
Sukkur district child protection officer Zubair Mahar said the minor's body also had marks of torture. He said that this is the second such incident in the state in the last few weeks. Earlier, a minor girl from the Hindu community had gone missing in Saleh Pat of Sukkur district. The police have also announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh for his recovery, but it is all in vain.
Cases of sexual violence against children have been reported frequently in Pakistan. Earlier this week, police in Rawalpindi arrested a schoolteacher on suspicion of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl at a school in Garrison City.
Many reports of atrocities on Hindus and other minority communities in Pakistan are not new. So according to the 2017 census, Hindus are the largest religious minority in Pakistan. So it is followed by Christians, Ahmadis, Sikhs, and also Parsis.
