The Aadhar card was initially made of thick paper, but later people got it laminated to keep it safe. There are also many people who make a plastic Aadhaar card, which looks exactly like a pan card. If you have also got a Lamination Aadhaar card or made a smart Aadhaar card, then be careful.  UIDAI has warned that those doing so may suffer heavy losses. Authorities believe such Aadhaar cards are illegal.

What could be the harm?

UIDAI has said that doing so may steal people's personal information. Not only this, but the Aadhar card's QR code can also stop working. The authority has also made it clear it will not use plastic Aadhaar or smart Aadhaar cards.

Which basis is valid?

The authority has said in its statement that the Aadhaar and Aadhaar downloads on an ordinary paper other than the original Aadhaar are completely valid. In such a situation, there is no need to get involved in smart Aadhaar.

Aadhaar gets downloaded for free

UIDAI has stated that there is no need for Aadhaar with colour print, black and white Aadhaar is completely valid everywhere. It is also clearly stated that there is no need to laminate the base or to make a plastic base of it. If your Aadhaar is lost or ripped off, you can download it again for free from eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and use it everywhere.

Shopkeepers charge between Rs 50 and Rs 300 to make plastic Aadhaar or to make smart Aadhaar cards. In this, the base is printed on a plastic or PVC sheet. Although this card looks very good and lasts very long, UIDAI has said that people need to avoid creating such a base.
