New variants of coronavirus are increasing concern in the country. The fall in vaccination on it can further increase the difficulty. So far, 54% less vaccines have been vaccinated than the total target. Some of the largest states have the worst daily vaccination records. The total population of these states is about 59 crores. According to the data, the vaccination target is 22% lower in Kerala and Delhi, 71% in Bihar, while it is 66% lower in Rajasthan and Bengal.
Along with Kerala and Delhi, the lack of vaccination in Punjab, Karnataka, and Gujarat is not much according to the population there. The vaccination shortfall is 26% in Punjab, 30% in Karnataka, and 37% in Gujarat. Delhi and Kerala have the highest vaccination records so far, but both states are still far from their target of vaccinating 60% of the population by December.
Along with Bihar, Rajasthan, and Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand have fallen short of the vaccination target. In Uttar Pradesh, it is 64% while in Jharkhand it is 62%.
On Friday, the Ministry of Health said that the vaccination coverage in the country has exceeded 36 crores. So far, more than 11 crore doses have been given to people in the age group of 18 to 44 years. Experts say that new variants of coronavirus are being reported around the world. Therefore, there is a need to expedite the process of vaccination. The Delta variant, which was first detected in India, is included in the deadliest variant of Corona.
