Italian bike maker Aprilia today (September 20) unveiled the entry level sports motorcycle in India. The company claims that the bike can accelerate from 0 to 60 in just 12 seconds.
In the middle-weight sports motorcycle segment, it will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 400, which comes between Rs 5.19 lakh and Rs 5.24 lakh.
The motorcycle will be a 'Made-in-India' product and will be produced at Piaggio India's Baramati plant in Maharashtra. At present, the company has not disclosed the prices of the bike.
If media reports are to be believed, its ex-showroom price could be between Rs 4.25 to 4.50 lakh. At present, the company has started pre-booking for the bike.
The design of Aprilia RS 457 is sharp and very attractive. This is a fully faired sports bike, whose design is similar to the company's other sports bikes RS 660 and RSV4.
The front also gets a sharp tusk-shaped LED DRL setup and a pair of LED headlamps. It also has half handlebar and backlit controls. The handlebar has a silver finish aluminum
The bike has a 5-inch TFT color screen, which shows speedometer, mobile connectivity, battery status, GPS, fuel gauge, side stand status and engine warning light. A silver-finish aluminum frame can be seen on its sides. It has a sharp tail-end with LED brake lamps and indicators.

Talking about the engine department, Aprilia RS 457 gets a 4-valve twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with dual camshaft, which generates maximum power of 47 hp. Power is delivered through a 6-speed gearbox. The weight of the motorcycle is 159 kg.
The RS 457 comes with 41 mm USD forks with pre-load adjustment at the front and a monoshock absorber with pre-load adjustability at the rear for riding comfort.
For braking, the bike has been provided with dual channel ABS system, which is equipped with 320 mm disc brake in the front wheel and 220 mm disc brake in the rear wheel. It has 17 inch alloy wheels with 110/70 section tire at the front and 150/60 section tire at the rear.
