Gautam Adani, Asia's richest man, proposed a Rs 65,000 crore in investment in Rajasthan over the next 5 to 7 years to build a massive 10,000 MW solar power plant, expand a cement plant, and upgrade Jaipur airport.
The investment by Adani's ports-to-energy business includes city gas infrastructure for retailing CNG to autos and piped gas to families and industry, as well as the construction of transmission lines to convey renewable energy.
He stated at the Invest in Rajasthan 2022 Summit here that the Adani company already has a significant footprint in the state. It runs a thermal power plant, has a solar park, and feeds coal to the state's power plants.
Adani Group is investing Rs 50,000 crore to increase renewable power generating capacity by 10,000 megawatts.
"This will be commissioned gradually over the following five years," he added, adding that the business had recently completed the commercial operation of the world's largest wind-solar hybrid power plant in Rajasthan a week before.
Furthermore, with the acquisitions of Ambuja Cements and ACC, it intends to more than treble its cement-producing capacity.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot officially opened the Invest in Rajasthan summit meeting today at 10 a.m. This two-day summit will be attended by dignitaries from some of the world's most famous corporate groupings.
