Reliance Jio has made many announcements ranging from free connectivity to investment for the development and support of start-ups in the country. Veteran Telecom company Reliance Jio and world's leading software company Microsoft have joined hands to introduce cloud computing infrastructure across the country. This information was given by Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL) while addressing the Annual General Assembly (AGM).
He said that this partnership will bring a kind of digital transformation in India. Under this agreement, Microsoft will provide its Azure cloud facility on Reliance Jio's network in India. For this, businesses and enterprises will be targeted. This will bring a big technological change in this sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said through video conferencing, "Together we can present a comprehensive technology solution." World class data centers will be set up across the country through the Jio-Microsoft alliance. Mukesh Ambani said that with this, more and more organizations will get the necessary tools and platforms for their digital capability.
Announcing this partnership, Mukesh Ambani also said that the emerging start-ups will be given free internet, network connectivity. Reliance Jio will bear the full cost of this connectivity and cloud infrastructure. Apart from this, Reliance has also insisted on investing in select start-ups.
Mukesh Ambani said that Reliance will invest in start-ups that are compatible with the company's business. Jio has so far invested in 14 such technology start-ups.
Apart from this, Jio has announced to provide connectivity and applications to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) at Rs 1,500 per month.
Significantly, the 42nd Annual General Meeting was organized by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Monday. In this, the chairman and managing director of the company, Mukesh Ambani informed that till now Jio's customers have exceeded 34 crores. It has also been informed that Jio has become the second largest telecom company in the world to operate in any one country.
