According to PTI, along with CNG, the price of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) has also increased in Mumbai. Its price has been increased by Rs 4 per unit. Let us inform that GAIL has announced an increase of 18 percent in the prices of natural gas supplied to city gas companies. With this announcement, the prices of CNG and PNG have started increasing in the cities of the country.
This is the sixth increase in the prices of CNG and PNG since April this year. Rising prices over the past several weeks have forced suppliers and dealers to cut industrial supplies. Earlier, on July 12, MGL had increased the prices. At that time the price of CNG was increased by Rs 6 per kg and that of PNG by Rs 3 per SCM.
In the statement of Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), it was said that due to the increase in gas cost, we have decided to compensate the cost. In this sequence, the retail price of CNG has been increased to Rs 86 per kg. Whereas the price of domestic PNG has been increased by Rs 4 to Rs 52.50 per unit.
Earlier on Monday, Green Gas Limited had increased the prices of CNG by Rs 5.3 per kg in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. After this increase, the price of CNG in Lucknow has now gone up to 96.10 per kg. According to the report, while the price of CNG in Delhi has increased by 74 percent within a year, its price has increased by 62 percent in Mumbai.
