In the midst of the questions arising on the AC coaches of the train, the Railways has now made such an arrangement that the risk of spreading Coronavirus in these coaches will be minimized.
The railway has made such a change in the programming of AC machinery installed on the roof of its German coaches that the machine is now throwing new air into the compartment every 3 minutes. This will minimize the risk of the virus spreading in cold air. It is known that the operation theatres of hospitals have similar air conditioners so that infection does not spread among patients.
An official of the Roland Stock Department in the Railway Board says that earlier even in every AC coach of the train, the air was changed at some intervals, but at some intervals. Currently, the Roof Mounted AC Package (RMPU) for German-equipped LHB coaches has such a system that it throws up new air every 10 minutes.
However, in the Corona era, 15 pairs of Rajdhani Specials were run and some changes were made to the programming of RMPU. After the change, new air comes into those coaches every 3 minutes. A similar arrangement occurs in air conditioning machines installed in operation theatres.
In view of the corona infection, these days the facility of sheets, pillows and blankets found in the AC coaches of the Railways has been withdrawn. Railways say that the sheets and pillow shells are washed after every use, but the fumigation of the blanket is possible only after a hiatus.
Similarly, pillow washing is not done every day. Therefore the temperature inside the compartment has increased. Earlier, the temperature inside the AC coaches was kept at 22 to 13 degrees Celsius, which has increased to 25 degrees recently.
Curtains have also been removed
The official says that when the railway service was to be started in the midst of lockdown, the Railway Ministry received many suggestions from the Union Health Ministry.
On the basis of this, not only were minor alterations in the rail coaches, but the curtains inside the AC coaches were also removed. The Health Ministry said that the curtains of the coaches will not be changed after every visit. In such a situation, there is no point in keeping it.
The journey of Rajdhani Express is also remembered for its delicious cuisine. But for more than 1,000 passengers on the train, it is a difficult task to make food and drink in the train itself. Therefore, these special trains run during the Corona period are not being given delicious dishes.
