Markets opened at record highs on the second day of the week as well. Sensex opened at 56,995.15 and Nifty opened at 16,947. Currently, Sensex is trading up 110 points at 57,003 and Nifty is up 35 points at 16,967.
Today on Tuesday it will be interesting to see which stocks have the advantage. On the previous day, the stock of Bharti Airtel was the biggest gainer with a gain of 4.44 per cent in the Sensex shares. The company's board of directors has approved raising up to Rs 21,000 crore through the rights issues. Due to this, the company's stock went up. Apart from this, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, Titan, Bajaj Finance, Maruti and State Bank of India were the main gainers. They had gained up to 4.15 per cent. On the other hand, only four stocks Tech Mahindra, Nestle India, Infosys and TCS were down up to 1.88 per cent.
Shopping continues in the market. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 stocks are trading higher while 11 stocks are trading with decline. In which HCL Tech shares are trading with a gain of 2% and Bharti Airtel shares with a gain of 1.5%.
Investors' wealth had increased by Rs 3.56 lakh crore in the stock market. The market capitalization of all the companies listed on BSE reached a record Rs 247.30 lakh crore. Vinod Modi, Head of Research, Reliance Securities said, "The domestic stock markets witnessed strong rally with the strong global trend. NSE's Nifty was only a few points behind from crossing the 17,000 marks.
2,380 shares are being traded on BSE. In which 1,557 shares are rising and 718 shares are trading in the red mark. With this, the total market cap of companies listed on BSE has crossed Rs 248.15 lakh crore. Earlier on Monday, the Sensex climbed 765 points to 56,890 and the Nifty climbed 226 points to close at 16,931.
Earlier, the US stock market Dow Jones closed at 35,399 with a weakness of 0.16%. The Nasdaq gained 0.90% to 15,265 and the S&P 500 0.43% to 4,528.
