Scientists have done this work with the help of a gene-editing tool (CRISPR-Cas9). This makes them aware of some genes that help corona to spread to the root in the body. In the study, scientists put some genes in African green monkey cells. They then infected them with the coronavirus. They then looked at which genes are proviral, which spread the virus and which are fighting against it (anti-viral).

Scientists say that with its help it will be able to know how this virus affects the human body. It is also said to help in making the right vaccine, which will directly target those genes or cells that can stop the virus.

The study looked at the genes and pathways used to propagate the virus inside the body. Protein roles are considered important in this. One form of this enhances the virus and the other helps in fighting the virus. According to the study, the ACE2 receptor and Cathepsin L protein help to spread the infection. At the same time, the histone protein tries to stop it from growing.
