Coronavirus: With Surge of 2.63 Lakh Cases, India’s Total Tally Surpasses 2.52 Cr

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 2,63,533 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,52,28,996. With 4,329 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 2,78,719.

The country also witnessed 4,22,436 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,15,96,512. The total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered stand at over 18,29,26,460 crore, informed the health ministry.

Decline in active cases continue:

There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 163232. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 18,69,223 samples were tested across the country on Sunday. Meanwhile, a total of 31,82,92,881 samples have been tested so far till May 17.

Maharashtra: 26,616 cases reported

On Monday, the state reported 26,616 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 48,211 patients recovered and 1000 died. So far, 54.05 lakh people have been affected by the epidemic in the state. Of these, 48.74 lakh people have recovered, while 82,486 have died. Currently, there are about 4.45 lakh people, who are undergoing treatment.

Delhi: Over 4,000 cases reported in the last 24 hours

On Monday, 4524 coronavirus cases reported in the state. Meanwhile, 10,918 people recovered and 340 died. So far, 13.98 lakh people have been infected here. Of these, 13.20 lakh have cured, while 21,846 patients lost their lives. Currently, there are 56,049 patients who are undergoing treatment.
