Its cases have been steadily increasing since then. The WHO stated that preliminary data showed that the Omicron variant was expanding much faster than the Delta variant. On the other hand, the WHO also said that it would be hasty to draw concrete results now.
There have been more than 130 cases of Omicron variants in the UK. Because of the growing cases of Omicron, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has resumed work from home culture in the country. People have been instructed to work from home. In view of the new variants of the Corona, the British government has adopted several other measures.
Two variants of the Omicron variant have emerged. Omicron (b.1.1.529) was discovered in South Africa a month ago, which was described by the WHO as a 'variant of concern'. Now two forms of omicron BA1 and BA2 have been detected. However, experts say that there is no danger of new forms.
In Germany, the corona has once again made the condition worse. In a single day, 527 Covid patients have died in the country. This is the highest number since February 12. Corona has killed 1.04 million people in Germany so far. There have been 69,601 new cases in the last 24 hours. So far more than 62.27 lakh people have been infected and 52.25 lakh people have recovered.
After the case of Omicron came to light in the country, the Union Ministry of Health wrote a letter to the States / UTs saying that the patients of this new variant of the virus would have to be treated only in the isolated wards of the designated Covid hospitals. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said in the letter that it should be ensured that health workers in these hospitals take adequate measures to prevent the virus so that there is no risk of spreading the infection from one patient to another people.
Production of Serum Institute of India Corona Vaccine Covishield is going to be reduced by 50 per cent from next week. Adar Poonawala, CEO of the company, said that the supply of Covishield is more than the demand at present. In such a case production has to be reduced. The orders given by the government will be fulfilled next week. The company is currently making 25-27 million doses a month.
