A two-and-a-half-year-old child died of Covid-19 in Rajasthan and 18 new cases of the disease were reported across the state on Thursday. He was referred to the capital from Chomu town, where 12 positive cases have been reported. Four cases were reported in Ajmer with one each in Baran and Pali.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has called a meeting today (Friday) morning to review the situation of COVID-19 and Dengue in the state. Chief Medical and Health Officer Narottam Sharma said that a team would be sent to Chomu for sampling those who came in contact with the boy and his family.
A total of 9,54,568 positive cases have been reported in the state since the outbreak of the COVID pandemic last year and 8,955 deaths have been reported so far.
At present there are 95 active cases in the state of Rajasthan, treatment of these patients is going on. These include 61 cases from Jaipur. To ensure that the cases do not increase, the Medical and Health Department has directed the officials to take special vigil and strictly follow the COVID-19 guidelines.
Vaibhav Galleria, Secretary of Medical Department, said that the coronavirus guidelines are being largely ignored during the festive season and the ongoing wedding season. As a result, the number of infections has increased, he said, adding that the officials should be tested, tracked. Instructions have been given to ensure a five-pronged strategy of treatment, vaccination and behaviour.
The Secretary said that the officials have been asked to increase the number of COVID-19 tests in the districts and immediately test the people who came in contact with the patients so that the spread of the disease can be stopped immediately.
He said officials have been directed to conduct intensive active and passive surveillance in the area of the infected patient, and have advised people to take both doses of the COVID-19 vaccines.
A two-and-a-half-year-old child has died from Corona in Chaomu town of Jaipur district. According to the information, the parents of the child are labourers and after his health deteriorated recently, his Covid test was done. He was admitted to RUHS after the test report came positive.
Where he died after being treated for about four days. Jaipur CMHO Dr Narottam Sharma said that now a team will be sent to investigate the parents of that child and samples of people who came in contact with them will also be sent for testing.
A total of 12 new cases have been found in Jaipur, including a 12-year-old girl. It is being told that the girl's mother came positive on November 14, after which when other family members were examined, she also got positive. Fortunately, the girl had not been going to school since November 8 and was on leave.
