Gujarat Congress leader and former state president Bharat Singh Solanki has become Corona positive and is now admitted to Vadodara Hospital. Significantly, Bharat Singh Solanki was made the candidate of Rajya Sabha by Congress, but he lost the election. After this, the news of him being corona positive has stirred.

Bharat Singh Solanki is the son of former Gujarat Chief Minister Madhav Singh Solanki and has been the Minister of State for Energy during the UPA government. Apart from this, between 2004 and 2006, he was Secretary in All India Congress Committee. He won the 2004 and 2009 elections from Anand Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat.

Bharat Singh Solanki started his political journey in 1992 as General Secretary of Gujarat Congress Committee. He became an MLA three times from 1995 to 2004 and was also the deputy leader of opposition in the assembly from 2003 to 2004. In 2004, he won elections from Anand Lok Sabha seat and in 2004, he was made the secretary of the Congress.

BHARAT SINGH SOLANKI WAS UNION MINISTER OF STATE FOR ENERGY

Bharat Singh Solanki was the state president of Gujarat Congress from 2006 to 2008 and was also the Union Minister of State for Energy from June 2009 to January 2011. He was Minister of State for Railways from January 2011 to October 2012, then Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation from October 2012 to 2014, whereas he was re-elected as the President of Gujarat Congress in 2015.

The Congress made Bharat Singh Solanki a Rajya Sabha candidate, but many Congress MLAs resigned before voting, because of this he lost the election. Out of four, Congress got only one seat, on which Shakti Singh Gohil won.
