The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the remaining exams of class 10th and 12th starting from July 1 for this year. During the hearing in the Supreme Court today, the board has informed about this decision. Along with this, it has also been told that now on which basis students will be given marks and results will be prepared.
The matter was heard in the Supreme Court before a bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta spoke on behalf of the CBSE and the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. At the same time, advocate Rishi Malhotra submitted arguments on the plea of Delhi, Odisha and Maharashtra government not to conduct the examination.
CBSE has issued an official notice regarding cancellation of 10th and 12th examinations. This notice issued by CBSE has been tweeted by Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank'. He tweeted, "Here is the notification issued by CBSE for students and parents."
CBSE has released the 10th and 12th examinations and the optional marks formula. Those who have already had more than 3 papers will get the numbers in the remaining subjects on average of Best 3. Those who have 3 papers will get the number on the average of Best 2. Students of class 12th will get the opportunity of an optional exam.
– Those who have given more than 3 exams – Best of 3 average marks left over from the subject
– Those who have given 3 exams – Best of 2 averages
– Those who have taken 1 or 2 exam – their marks and internal assessment / practical average
At the same time, the CBSE board will release the results of the 10th and 12th examinations by July 15. In the CBSE case, the petitioner's counsel questioned that when the children of class 12th will get the opportunity for re-examination, it should also be clarified. However, clarity has not yet been given on this point.
