BJP MP from East Delhi and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir have received death threats. According to the report, the investigation has revealed that this threatening e-mail was sent to Gambhir from Pakistan. The system through which this mail was sent, its IP address has also been found in Pakistan.
Gambhir received this e-mail at around 9 pm on Tuesday. In this, it has been said that his family members were also killed. Along with this, on Wednesday evening also, he was threatened with death through the mail. It is written in the mail- 'Yesterday wanted to kill you, got saved, stay away from Kashmir.'
BJP MP from East Delhi and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir have called 'ISIS Kashmir' a threat to his life. Therefore, Gambhir has alleged that he has received death threats from 'ISIS Kashmir'. DCP Central Shweta Chauhan told that its investigation is still going on. Security has also been beefed up outside Gambhir's house.
In December 2019, Gautam Gambhir and his family received murder threats. Gambhir lodged a complaint with the Delhi police after receiving threats on the phone from an international number. Regarding this, he also wrote a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Shahdara.
Chouhan said, "The complaint alleges that on Tuesday, an unknown person threatened to kill him and his family on Gautam Gambhir's e-mail ID." After receiving the complaint the DCP said that the police will investigate the case. The district police have also beefed up security outside Gambhir's personal security and his residence in the Rajendra Nagar area.
The Police said that the FIR has not yet been registered in the case as an investigation is going on regarding the complaint. They said that the Special Cell, in association with the Cyber Cell of the Central District Police, is investigating the matter. A senior officer of the special cell said, "We are probing the matter."
