Tech company Google has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Google was accused of leaking fact-finding investigation reports. The leaked report is believed to be part of an investigation ordered by the CCI in a case against Google in 2019. So In this matter, Google says that it has not yet received this Confidential Report, nor has it done any kind of review. This report was leaked even before she got it.
The tech company said, "Google has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking resolution of the matter. Specifically objecting to the breach of trust, which causes harm to Google and its affiliates." Reports last week said that the Director-General of the CCI's investigative wing has been found. So the company is involved in unfair business practices with respect to Android.
"We are deeply concerned that the DG's report, which contains confidential information on one of our ongoing cases. So It was leaked to the media from the CCI," said.
A Google spokesperson said in a statement, "Protecting confidential information is a basic requirement of any government investigation. And we are exercising our legal right to prevent any further unlawful disclosure."
"The company fully cooperated and maintained confidentiality throughout the investigation process. We expect the same level of confidentiality from the institutions we are associated with," the spokesperson said.
Days after reports appeared that the probe by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has found. However, Google India is guilty of adopting anti-competitive, unfair, and restrictive trade practices in the mobile operating system and related markets. So the tech giant has moved the Delhi High Court against the anti-trust body over the alleged leaking of the 'confidential' report to the media.
