Cristiano Ronaldo looks to be the latest celebrity to join the NFT. The Manchester United striker has agreed to a multi-year contract with Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange by daily trading volume, according to a statement released on June 23.
Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are quickly gaining popularity throughout the world as more celebrities endorse the digital tokens, either by minting their collection or acquiring them at premium prices.
Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Sunil Gavaskar, Dinesh Karthik, and hundreds of other worldwide superstars, including Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, and Tony Hawk, have all previously supported NFTs, and now the Portuguese football player has joined the ranks.
Binance announced the cooperation on Twitter on Thursday. "This is your chance to own an iconic piece of sports history and become a member of CR7's Web3 community," the post said. The post also included a brief video message from Ronaldo, who stated, "Together, we will alter the NFT game and elevate football to the next level."
Binance stated that Ronaldo would develop a series of NFT collections as part of the multi-year partnership. The NFTs will be available for purchase on Binance's platform, with the first collection launching later this year.
NFTs are unique entities that exist on a blockchain. If you own an NFT, you may be confident that no one else in the world has an NFT with the same characteristics as you
