The next 15 days can be difficult for the people in Punjab. Now people will not get petrol and diesel after 5 pm. Petrol pumps will remain open only from 7 am to 5 pm. This decision has been taken in the meeting of the Punjab Petroleum Dealers Association.
The announcement was made after a meeting of dealers in Ludhiana on Sunday. About 50 petrol pump owners including Jalandhar, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ropar, Mohali, Hoshiarpur, Moga participated in this meeting. In which Association's Manjit Singh, Ashok Sachdeva, Monty Sehgal were also present.
Association President Paramjit Singh Doaba said that the price of petrol and diesel is increasing continuously. This is increasing their input cost. In comparison, there was no increase in his commission. The cost has doubled in the last 5 years. Several meetings have been held with the government in this regard. From controlling the prices, they have demanded to increase the commission. Despite this, no decision was taken.
According to the association, keeping petrol pumps open for 24 hours or till late at night is increasing their expenses. The earning is less than this. Because of this, they will now open the pump late in the morning and close it early in the evening as well. This will bring down their cost a bit.
According to the association, at present, this process will be from 7 to 21 November. If the government does not listen to it even in the next 15 days, then on November 22, the petrol pumps will be closed for the whole day. In which he will decide the strategy of further struggle. Due to non-increasing commissions and daily increases in prices, many pumps have reached the verge of closure. So he is forced to fight.
