Congress MP Manish Tiwari has once again raised the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in the election atmosphere. Manish Tiwari has demanded Bharat Ratna for Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. However, while talking about elections for the Congress in Haryana, Manish Tiwari preferred the interests of Punjab rather than Haryana in the matter of Chandigarh Airport. He said "The name of Chandigarh Airport should rename to Shaheed-e- Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh (Mohali) as the airport is built on the land of Mohali (Punjab)".
While he also said "Firstly- joining the freedom movement and second- on apologizing (escaping from Kalapani), Savarkar's name was listed among the conspirators of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination". At the same time, Congress leader Manish Tiwari taunted that the Modi government should not give Bharat Ratna to Savarkar, but to Nathuram Godse.
Manish Tiwari said, "The BJP has promised Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar in its resolution letter for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. But in his place, Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse should be given the highest honor of the country. Godse killed Bapu by just firing bullets, while Savarkar was just the main conspirator of the murder".
