The England Women register a five-wicket win over India Women and grab an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series on Wednesday. Kate Cross' five-wicket haul led team to victory. On the other hand, the England women's team, chasing the target of 222 runs, did not get a good start, but the team achieved the target in 47.3 overs. This was the second match of the three-match ODI series, which the hosts have won. The first match was also won by hosts England by 8 wickets.
Sophia Dunkley played an unbeaten knock of 73 runs in 81 balls, while Katherine Brunt scored 33 not out off 46 balls and played a key role in the team's victory. Meanwhile, Winfield Hill played an inning of 42 runs. However, Indian captain Mithali Raj scored her second successive fifty.
Batting first, the Indian team had a poor start. Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur shared 68 runs partnership for the fourth wicket for the team. Mithali scored 57th ODI half-century of her career. Apart from Mithali, opener, Shefali Verma scored 44 runs in 55 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues (8), who replaced Punam Raut in the playing XI, continued to struggle with the bat. Raj did not take the field during the England run chase as due to pain in the neck and her deputy Harmanpreet Kaur led the visiting team. Later, Radha Yadav was called as substitute fielder.
