The film Student of the Year, released on 19 October 2012, has completed 9 years today. Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra made their Bollywood debut together through this film directed by Karan Johar. All three actors have given many great films in their career, although Karan Johar had predicted their success even before Alia's debut.
Making a video of Student of the Year surfaced, in which Karan Johar and designer Manish Malhotra were seen discussing young Alia Bhatt. In the video, Karan had said, "Here is a girl from Mumbai who has come straight from school, her approach is very western, who was dancing her heart out in the Hindi song Bahara. Karan further said, there is something in this girl that will connect a lot with the people of India. Manish further said that she will become a very big actress one day because she likes and enjoys her work.
In the making video of the film, Alia Bhatt has told that she suddenly got the offer of the film while eating a cupcake. Alia said, while eating the cupcake, I heard Karan telling his mother that I am in his film. I thought I had heard something wrong, but after I finished the cupcakes I realized that I am in this film. For the next three months, I was smiling at myself.
Today, in the joy of completing 9 years of the film, Karan Johar, while sharing some special glimpses of the film, wrote, October is full of gifts that keep on giving and Student of the Year is also one of them. Apart from this, this film is being given continuously. The best gift for me has been these three students who are today superstars and are constantly giving their best to the cinema world. I couldn't be more proud than this.
