According to the latest update from Comscore on Monday morning, 'Animal' emerged as the top-grossing film at the international box office over the weekend.
Estimates suggest that it has garnered more than $42 million, translating to over ₹350 crore in international collections.
The makers, providing official information, have confirmed a weekend collection of ₹356 crores.
In India, 'Animal' has grossed around ₹240 crores, while it has accumulated a gross collection of ₹116 crores in overseas markets.
'Animal' has outperformed Hollywood films such as 'Napoleon,' 'The Hunger Games,' and 'Renascence' at the international box office this weekend.
It secured the top spot, leaving 'Napoleon' at the second position, with a significant difference in earnings. 'Napoleon' collected approximately 35.75 million dollars, which is nearly 298 crores in Indian currency, during the weekend. In comparison to 'Animal,' it falls short by more than 50 crores.
Only four Indian films have debuted at the number one position at the international box office so far. These films are RRR, Animal, Brahmastra, and Master. In other words, only two Bollywood films have achieved this feat, and both of them star Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Brahmastra,' released in 2022, made a stellar start at the global box office with over 23.9 million dollars (more than 199 crores) in its opening weekend.
It secured the number one spot on the international charts for the weekend of September 9th to September 11th.
Once again, Ranbir Kapoor has replicated this success with 'Animal,' showcasing his star power at a new level.
