Boman Irani's mother Jerbanoo Irani is no more. She was 94 years old, Bowman used to wish her every year on Father's Day, saying that she fulfilled the duty of both father and mother. When she was 32 years old, Boman's father was no more. Since then she was devoted to her children. Boman shared the news of his mother's death on social media.
Boman wrote in his post – Mother Irani passed away peacefully in her sleep this morning. Jer was 94 years old. She played both mother and father for me when she was only 32 years old. She was a wonderful soul. Full of funny stories that only she could tell. Such a long hand that always groped something or the other in her pocket. Even when there wasn't much. When she sent me to the movies, she said 'don't forget popcorn'.
She loved her food and her songs and could fact check Wikipedia and IMDb in a flash. Till the end her memory was sharp. She always used to say – you are not such an actor that people should praise you. You are only an actor so you can make people smile. Just make people happy.
Last night she asked for malai kulfi and some mangoes. If she wanted, she could have asked for the moon and stars. She was, and always will be… a star.
Boman Irani was last seen in a guest appearance in Maska (2020). Jayeshbhai Jordaar is boman's new project on which he is currently working. This film is a social comedy film written and directed by newcomer Divyang Thakkar.
