He announced the film with a trailer on social media. The words "A new era begins" were incorporated in the introduction video.
Almost after 12 years Don 3 is finally on the ground but the reactions of fans are mixed this time.
The new era has been marked by Farhan Akhtar but he has not shared much details about the film.
Farhan shared a video on his social media handle and wrote. “A new era begins,” in blood red texts on which his sister Zoya akhtar commented "BOOM"
Shah Rukh Khan fans were very upset after they got to know that this new era of Don has no SRK, reacting to this the fans filled the comment section saying “No Shah Rukh Khan, No Don 3.” One of the fans wrote, “If SRK is not hero then we don't want the Don franchise anymore.
They also said that how can they even imagine Don without Shah Rukh Khan.
Farhan's statement follows a Pinkvilla claim that the filmmaker is preparing to launch Don 3 with Ranveer Singh. According to reports, the teaser for Don 3 would be placed on the prints of Gadar 2.
The teaser will be released at all national chains throughout the Nation. The Don 3 teaser will be available on social media this week. The cast and crew are really pleased to introduce Ranveer Singh as the new Don to this generation of moviegoers.
The announcement will be made via a good teaser, which will be released digitally in the next two to three days.
Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani purchased the rights to the original 1978 film Don, starring Amitabh Bachchan, and remade it with Shah Rukh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
Don was released in 2006, while the second part was released in 2011, with SRK and Priyanka reprising their roles. Akhtar did not divulge the cast of the highly awaited film when announcing it.
However, according to certain speculations, Ranveer Singh will replace Shah Rukh Khan as Don in the forthcoming flick. The film's production team, however, has not confirmed the news.
