Bollywood entertainer Koena Mitra has been sentenced by a metropolitan officer's court for a situation of cheque bouncing. She was likewise condemned to basic detainment of a half year, sooner this month. As per a report by Mumbai Mirror, the case was enlisted after a grievance was recorded by model Poonam Sethi. As indicated by the objection, Koena was approached to pay Rs 4.64 lakh, of which Rs 1.64 lakh was the interest part.
The model enlisted the body of evidence against the on-screen character upwards of six years back after her check skipped for 'need of assets.' However, Mitra has disproved the charges and would battle against the decision in a legitimate plan. Andheri Metropolitan Court Magistrate Ketaki Chavan dismissed the greater part of the contentions raised by Koena.
The report further expresses that Koena in her counter contention proposed that the complainant (model) did not have adequate money related limit so as to have the option to loan Rs 22 lakh. According to the case enlisted, Koena acquired this sum over some stretch of time and when it returned to reimbursing it, she gave a check of Rs 3 Lakh which bounced.
Koena was cited saying, "The case is totally false and I have been framed in the matter. During the final argument, my lawyer could not be present in the court and hence my side was not heard and the order was passed without my hearing. We will be challenging the judgment in the higher court and my lawyers are in the process of appealing."
